That leaf is bigger than his head!

Onward Christian Soldier

Robert was playing with Fiddlesticks, and had made a cross with a base. He said that it was a church symbol, and that when he took the base off, it was a warrior stick!

Roar!

Right before the photo was taken, Jim said to Robert, "Roar like a lion!", and to Jon he said, "Roar like a penguin!", hence the quizzical look.
Jonathan was having a bad case of the "Nos" this morning. He was sitting on the sofa, crying. I asked him if he wanted something to drink, and he said "No". I asked him if he wanted breakfast, and he said "No." I asked him if he wanted to watch cartoons, and he said "No." Jim asked him if he wanted to just sit there and say "No", and he gave a look of recognition and didn't say no.

Fishpaste!

Robert's first day of preschool was a big success! He helped clean up toys, and "helped" the teacher by telling her what time it was. The second day, not so much. He managed to say the "f" word three times. At least it was three times in a row, and not over a span of time. We talked about it and decided that he should say a Spongebob curseword when he was angry. The two that came to mind were Fishpaste and Barnacles. Fishpaste was the obvious choice since it is another "f" word.

A little focus is needed

Granted, Robert is just learning how to play soccer, but he did run off the field during the "game" and try to uproot a flag that had been placed in the neighboring field.

My excuse

It isn't like the kids didn't do interesting, funny or just plain weird (Robert) things over the summer, it's just we were together 24/7 and it's not easy to write about people when they (Robert) are in the room reading over my shoulder. Thanks goodness for school, for both the time to write and the material!

Knock, Knock...

Robert has a penchant for telling knock-knock jokes that don't make sense. At dinner, he said "Knock, knock" "Who's there?" "Delta" "Delta who?" "Delta delta." I told him that he needed to work on his material.

Baby baseball fan

Jim and Robert were wearing their White Sox hats while watching the game on t.v. Jonny didn't want to be left out, so he went to his room and got his Ball State hat.

Shooot!

I have the habit of saying "Shoot" when Ms. Pac-Man is attacked by the ghosts. Jonny picked up on that, and he just has to hear the music of failure and he says "Shooo". No T yet.

About time

Jonny has been racing around the house using his lawn mower for several weeks, but hasn't yet walked on his own. At bedtime tonight, he crawled over to his crib and got his blanket, then stood up and used the blanket to steer as he took his first steps! He walked across the room!

He's ready for Clown College

Robert had a dish of whole dried plums, and I saw that Jonathan was eating one. I told Robert, "That was certainly nice of you to share your snack with Brother." He said, "I didn't give him one--he helped himself." I went over and looked in the bowl--there was one left. "How many did he take?" I asked. I realized that was a stupid question and started taking the plums out of Jonny's mouth. One, two, three, four were pulled out, just like the magicians' scarf trick.
